David’s Bridal

CGL’s design for the new David’s Bridal store at Westfield Stratford, launched in spectacular style in late 2013.

As a new entrant to the UK Market, the store measured astonishing success in its first few weeks of opening and continues to attract customers from all over the UK. Appointments for fittings and bridal advice are booked up for five months at a time; with the first day of sales drawing brides from as far as Scotland queuing out the doors on the Westfield site.

Inside, the store is spread over two floors and has been designed with a dramatic double height space with floors linked by an elegant circular staircase and stepped bridal display. With the intention to give a feeling of ‘special occasion’ and ‘indulgency’, cream ceramics, carpets, elegant mouldings and feature chandeliers embellish the internal space.

The products combined with the luxurious atmosphere created by the design team have received positive coverage in Vogue, Elle, The Times, The Telegraph and many more mainstream and fashion publications.

We Design For’s Pete Carvell lead the MEP design for the project. Featuring a secondary HVAC system, with air, LTHW and CWS fed from Westfield Shopping Centre’s central plant and inspirational lighting design, the client’s aspiration to cut costs were satisfied without compromising system performance.

The occasionwear superstore has arrived from the US to occupy a massive, two-floor shop in Westfield Stratford – and it’s all about fun Time Out Magazine
