Will Alsop’s last major project, the 15-storey Heliport Heights in Wandsworth, is set to begin on site later this year.
The luxury apartment tower designed by aLL Design, with stuctural and MEP engineering services provided in collaboration by members of the We Design For team, is live again thanks to a refinancing deal. It is likely that it could be the late architect’s last major scheme in the capital.
Alsop, who sadly passed away in May at the age of 70, originally won planning permission for Heliport Heights back in 2014. The corten-clad scheme features 14 apartments in a 15-storey building that straddles an existing structure on the site – structurally the first construction of its kind in London. The build will create a block that will effectively be 20-storeys tall.
