We collaborated with aLL Design and HAL Robotics to deliver the MEP and environmental integration for this pioneering UKRI-funded research project into digitally enabled off-site construction. Our role focused on aligning building-services design and energy-performance requirements with an automated, multi-facility manufacturing workflow.
Working from BIM-embedded data, we developed service-integration strategies compatible with automated toolpath generation, modular production and distributed factory cells. This ensured that heating, cooling, ventilation and electrical systems could be pre-fabricated efficiently, tested in controlled environments, and deployed to site with minimal rework.
The project successfully demonstrated a scalable “digital thread” from architectural design through to automated manufacture — increasing productivity, improving quality, and enabling performance-driven modules ready for rapid on-site assembly.
